Writing the “about” section in the third person was sounding unstable and strange, because who am I kidding? There is no “us.” It’s just me, Annie Tomlin, a writer living in New York. You might have seen my writing or phototgraphs in publications like Food & Wine, Time Out Chicago, Forbes Travel Guide, Nylon, Ms., Venus Zine, Bust, and Punk Planet. (It’s OK if you didn’t, though.) By day, I write about health, beauty, fitness, sex, and money (whew!) as Refinery29′s beauty director. On nights and weekends, I explore. And now, with Admiring Distance, I write about and take pictures of all kinds of places. Expect photographs, trip reports, and profiles of people who see the world differently.
